Where we are

Sanctum Retreats is nestled on the lower slopes of the ancient landmark of Garway Hill, in the beautiful border county of Herefordshire, overlooking the Golden Valley and Black Mountains. From this elevated position on the English/Welsh border, breath-taking views  reach out to Hay Bluff, Skirrid and Sugar Loaf mountains to the west and Gloucestershire's May Hill to the east.

The environment is home to a variety of wildlife. Our regular visitors include: majestic Red Kites and Kestrels; elegant Fallow and Muntjac deer; characterful Pheasants and Partridge; night-time visitors Tawny, Barn, and Little Owls, to name a few.

All this provides a naturally conducive location for retreat, whether walking and wandering, or quietly contemplating.

We are conveniently positioned just 9 miles from Hereford, 10 miles from Ross-on-Wye, 12 miles from Monmouth, and 15 miles from Abergavenny, we are easily accessible from the north, south, east and west - via M5, M50 and A49 routes.
